Haggis and Mustard Bites

Rich, tasty haggis mixed with sharp wholegrain mustard wrapped in flaky pastry. A savoury treat that will keep you and your party guests fed and happy.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 150 g of sausage meat
- 2 tsp of wholegrain mustard
- 30 g of poppy seeds
- 1 egg
- 1 bunch of fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 250 g of haggis, skin removed and crumbled
- 300 g of puff pastry
Method
Step 1
Mix the haggis with the sausage meat in a large bowl using your hands.Step 2
Add the parsley and continue to mix, then leave to one side for later.Step 3
Lay a pastry sheet flat, keeping it on the plastic. Cut it in half lengthways and spread the mustard on each half.Step 4
Divide the haggis, sausage meat and parsley mix into two and roll into two long rolls - to the same length as the pastry.Step 5
Roll the pastry over the haggis and sausage meat so the seam is underneath, press down to seal.Step 6
Beat the egg and brush onto the pastry. Place in the fridge for 20 mins to chill.Step 7
Heat the oven to Gas mark 6 / 200°C / Fan 180°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.Step 8
Slice the rolls into bite size pieces roughly 3cm each.Step 9
Snip the top of each and brush again with the remaining egg wash.Step 10
Scatter with poppy seeds before cooking in the oven for 20 mins or until golden.Step 11
Stand for 5 minutes then serve and enjoy.
