Ingredients
- 4 Morrisons big boozy bangers
- 4 Morrison's footlong hot dog buns, sliced part way down the center horizontally
- 2 tbsp chopped pickles
- 2 white onions, peeled and sliced
- 1 small celeriac, peeled and cut into thin strips
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp drained capers
- 3 tbsp double cream
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 4 tbsp American mustard
- 75ml vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp chopped chives
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Method
Step 1
Prepare for BBQ & Remoulade: Fire up your BBQ. In a bowl, mix the celeriac, lemon juice, double cream, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, capers, and a large pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.Step 2
Make Crispy Onions: Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan until hot (test by dropping a breadcrumb into the oil; it should sizzle). Add half of your sliced onions and fry for 5 minutes until browned and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Repeat for the second batch. Once done, toss the crispy onions with a little salt, pepper, and the garlic powder.Step 3
Cook Hot Dogs & Buns: Cook your hot dogs on the BBQ for 20 minutes, turning them occasionally until they are cooked through and evenly colored. With a couple of minutes left on the hot dogs, place your hot dog rolls, slit-side down, on the BBQ to create griddle lines and warm through.Step 4
Assemble The Dogfather: Fill each warm hot dog roll with a generous amount of the prepared remoulade. Place a cooked boozy banger into the roll. Top with the crispy onions, chopped pickles, American mustard, and chopped chives. Serve immediately.
