There’s nothing quite like the smell of home-baked bread. Follow this recipe for a tasty loaf with a stunning texture.

Ingredients

  • 50 g of poppy seeds
  • 30 ml of honey
  • 50 g of sunflower seeds
  • 20 ml of extra virgin olive oil
  • 500 g of strong wholemeal flour
  • 7 g of dried yeast
  • 50 g of sesame seeds

Method

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Step 2

    Mix the flour, salt and yeast together in a bowl. Add the oil, honey and water and combine into a dough.
  3. Step 3

    Knead the dough on a floured surface by hand for 12 minutes.
  4. Step 4

    Flatten the dough out and tip the seeds into the middle of the dough. Gently knead them in until thoroughly combined.
  5. Step 5

    Place the dough into a floured bowl, cover with clingfilm and leave in a warm place for an hour.
  6. Step 6

    When the time is up, remove from the bowl and then knead again for a further 2 minutes.
  7. Step 7

    Form the dough into a small sausage shape and place into a 2lb loaf tin.
  8. Step 8

    Cover loosely with clingfilm, return to the warm place until the dough has risen just above the top of the tin.
  9. Step 9

    Once risen, place the tin into the oven for 35 – 40 minutes.
