Pea & Potato Mash

This yummy combination is sure to be a favourite with your little one. It's easy to prepare, tasty, and an easy way to sneak in those greens.

Ingredients

  • 20 g of shallots, finely diced
  • 3 dashes of freshly ground black pepper
  • 250 g of potatoes, peeled and cut in half
  • 325 g of birds eye peas
  • 1 dash of nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp of double cream
  • 50 g of unsalted softened butter

Method

  1. Step 1

    Cook the potatoes in boiling water for about 20 minutes or until cooked. Drain well and mash
  2. Step 2

    While the potatoes are cooking, melt 2 teaspoons of the butter. Add the shallots and cook until they are soft but not coloured.
  3. Step 3

    Cook the peas according to the packet instructions and then purée them in a blender.
  4. Step 4

    Combine the mashed potatoes, remaining butter, double cream, pea purée and shallots. Season to taste with pepper and nutmeg.
