A famous and indulgent starter, named after one of the richest – and flamboyant – Americans of all time. Treat yourself, and someone special, to a plateful of half-shelled Oysters garnished with a rich sauce of greens and butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 50 g of breadcrumbs
  • 40 g of butter
  • 1 handful of parsley
  • 6 oysters
  • 40 g of parmesan, grated

Method

  1. Step 1

    Heat a little butter in a pan and fry the onions, parsley and spinach for several minutes.
  2. Step 2

    Finely dice the onion, then roughly chop the parsley and spinach.
  3. Step 3

    Put a spoonful of the mixture on each shucked (opened and prepared) oyster.
  4. Step 4

    Put into the oven to bake for 15 minutes, or until your oysters start to curl at the edges.
  5. Step 5

    Sprinkle the breadcrumbs and parmesan over each oyster and add a small knob of butter.
  6. Step 6

    Drizzle with freshly squeezed lemon juice to serve and enjoy.
