
Meat-Free Bean Burgers

These tasty bean burgers are full of flavour and make a delicious vegetarian dish.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 3 tbsp of ketchup
- 1 carrot
- 350 g of canned borlotti beans
- 4 burger buns
- 3 tsp of sunflower oil
- 70 g of natural breadcrumbs
- 60 g of red leicester, grated
- 300 g of canned blackeye beans
- 1 large bunch of little gem lettuce
- 1 onion
Method
Step 1
Heat half the oil in a pan, add the onion and cook over a low heat for 5 minutes, until softened.Step 2
Drain and rinse borlotti beans.Step 3
In a food processor blitz the cooked onion with the grated carrot, beans, breadcrumbs and ketchup until evenly mixed.Step 4
Shape the mix into 4 burgers.Step 5
Add the remaining oil to the pan and fry the burgers for 5 minutes each side, until golden brown and piping hot.Step 6
Serve in a bun with lettuce and grated cheese.
