Ingredients
- 6 Morrisons The Best Extra Fruity Hot Cross Buns
- 200g fresh custard
- 100g dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 100g butter
- 100g caster sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Method
Step 1
Warm the custard in a pan. When it’s steaming, remove from the heat and add the chocolate, stirring until fully melted into the custard. Transfer to a piping bag and cool at room temperature, then chill until you’re ready to fill the doughnuts.Step 2
When you’re ready to get cooking, heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas 4. Separate the buns and warm them in the oven for 3-5 mins. Meanwhile, melt the butter and pour into a bowl, then combine the sugar and cinnamon in a second bowl.Step 3
Brush each warm bun in melted butter, then roll them in the cinnamon sugar. Poke a hole in the side of each bun with a skewer or small sharp knife, inserting it to the centre of the bun, but being careful not to break through the sides.Step 4
Snip off the end of the piping bag, insert it into each bun and gently squeeze to fill them with chocolate custard.
