Hot Chocolate with a Peppermint Twist

Here's the ultimate Christmas hot chocolate for those special occasions when you just need that little bit of warming comfort on a cold winter's night. With a touch of peppermint... it's great for festive evenings.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 120 ml of heavy cream
- 360 ml of milk
- 1 tsp of peppermint extract
- 0.5 tsp of vanilla extract
- 2 candy canes
- 1 scoop of whippipng cream
- 110 g of milk chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 50 g of dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
Method
Step 1
On a medium heat, mix together the milk and cream in a saucepan until they are hot and steaming, but not boiling.Step 2
Remove the pan from the heat and add in the dark and milk chocolate. Let the mix stand for 1 min and then add in the vanilla and peppermint extract.Step 3
Place the pan back over a low heat and melt in the chocolate, making sure not to let the mix boil, until the texture is smooth and silky.Step 4
Pour the hot chocolate into mugs with whipped cream and a candy cane to garnish.Step 5
Serve and enjoy.
