Ingredients
- 500g Beef Mince
- 150ml Cola (plus 75ml for dressing)
- 100g Panko breadcrumbs
- 75g Cheddar, grated
- 4 Brioche burger rolls
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 large Beef Tomato, finely sliced
- 1 small Red Onion, sliced
- Baby gem lettuce, to serve
- 4 slices Mature Cheddar
- 2 tbsp Gherkins, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 5 tbsp French salad dressing
- 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Method
Step 1
Prepare the Burgers: In a large bowl, combine the beef mince, 150ml cola, Worcestershire sauce, panko breadcrumbs, chopped gherkins, grated Cheddar, egg, a large pinch of salt, and pepper. Mix well. Divide the mixture into 4 equal burger patties.Step 2
Make the Dressing: In a separate bowl, whisk together the French salad dressing, mayonnaise, and 75ml cola. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, then set aside.Step 3
Cook the Burgers: Heat the 2 tbsp olive oil in a large, non-stick pan (with a lid) over a medium heat. Add the burger patties and cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping them regularly to ensure even browning.Step 4
Melt the Cheese: Once the burgers are cooked, place a slice of mature Cheddar on top of each patty. Cover the pan with the lid and allow the cheese to melt.Step 5
Toast the Buns: While the cheese is melting, heat a griddle pan over a high heat. Place the brioche burger rolls cut-side down on the griddle to lightly char.Step 6
Assemble the Burgers: Spread a generous amount of the prepared cola dressing on both halves of each toasted brioche bun. On the bottom half of each bun, layer some baby gem lettuce, followed by a cheesy cola burger.Step 7
Finish & Serve: Top each burger with sliced red onion and beef tomato. Place the bun lid on top and serve immediately.
