Cheesy Pea and Bacon Fritters

Easy to make and quick to whip up, these fritters taste delicious eaten hot or cold and are great as a snack or paired with sausages!

Ingredients

  • 80 g of lean bacon, diced into small pieces
  • 100 ml of semi skimmed milk
  • 1 large potato, cooked and mashed
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g of frozen diced onion
  • 60 g of grated mature cheddar
  • 100 g of frozen peas
  • 30 g of butter, plus a little extra for frying
  • 50 g of plain flour

Method

  1. Step 1

    After mashing the potato, leave it to cool. When it is cool, add plain flour, egg and double cream. Mix well.
  2. Step 2

    Put to one side while you melt the butter and fry the onion and bacon until light brown. Cool, and add to the potato mixture. Season to taste.
  3. Step 3

    Add the cheese and peas. Melt a little butter in a non-stick frying pan. When the butter is frothing, add dessertspoons of the mixture to the pan and fry on each side until golden Delicious with sausages or bacon!
  4. Step 4

    Season to taste.
