These ham and cheese roll ups are a real crowd pleaser, whether they’re fresh out of the oven, or as an easy lunch box snack.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 tbsp of yellow deli mustard
  • 0.5 tbsp of worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp of onion granules
  • 10 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 115 g of butter, melted
  • 500 g of shortcrust pastry
  • 1 tbsp of poppy seeds
  • 350 g of ham slices

Method

  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 180°C/gas mark 4/fan 160°C and grease a baking tray.
  2. Step 2

    Roll out the dough into a 13x18 inch rectangle and top with ham and cheese.
  3. Step 3

    Starting with the longer edge of the rectangle, roll up the dough tightly.
  4. Step 4

    Once completely rolled, pinch the ends together and adjust so the seam is facing down.
  5. Step 5

    Cut the roll up into 12 equal slices.
  6. Step 6

    Evenly place the roll ups onto the baking tray.
  7. Step 7

    Combine the butter, poppy seeds, mustard, onion and Worcestershire sauce in a small mixing bowl and pour the sauce evenly over the roll ups.
  8. Step 8

    Bake, uncovered, for 25 minutes until lightly browned. Serve and enjoy.
