Ingredients
- 1 tin of chickpeas (400g), drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- Half a teaspoon of smoked paprika
- A good pinch of salt
Method
Step 1
First things first, you need to make sure your chickpeas are as dry as possible. After rinsing them, tip them onto a clean tea towel or some kitchen paper and give them a proper pat dry. If they are still a bit damp, they will steam instead of getting that lovely crunch we are after.Step 2
In a bowl, toss the chickpeas with the olive oil, cumin, paprika, and salt until every single one is well coated in those lovely spices.Step 3
Tip the chickpeas into your air fryer basket. Cook them at 200°C for about 15 minutes. It is a good idea to give the basket a really thorough shake every five minutes or so to make sure they are browning evenly all over.Step 4
They are ready when they look golden-brown and feel light and crunchy. Let them cool down for a few minutes before you tuck in, as they actually get a bit crispier as they sit.
