Kleine Zalze is an award-winning winery situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands, just two miles from Stellenbosch in South Africa. Winemaking has taken place on their estate on a small scale since 1695 but it was in 1996, when Kobus Basson and his family purchased the property, that the modern Kleine Zalze was born

All the vineyard parcels were harvested to optimum ripeness and vinified separately. The wines were fermented at low temperatures with selected yeast strains to highlight each vineyard's specific characteristics. After fermentation, the wine was left for a further 3 months in contact with the lees to develop a rich mid-palate before putting the final blend together.
