Product Information

This elegant and harmonious wine is an expression of our passion and an outstanding terroir

This Malbec is crafted by our award-winning winemaker Hervé J Fabre. The cooler climate of Patagonia in the south of Argentina gives freshness and elegance to this wine. With rich aromas of black cherry, chocolate and spice, dark fruit flavours and smooth tannins, this wine will go well with grilled meat, steak or roasted vegetables.

Brand Marketing

In the early 1990s, Bordeaux winemaker Hervé J. Fabre and his wife Diane moved to Argentina, recognizing the potential of Malbec. They purchased some of the country’s oldest Malbec vineyards (planted in 1908) and founded Bodegas Fabre in Luján de Cuyo. Today, the winery has vineyards in both Mendoza and Patagonia. At the heart of Viñalba is the partnership between Diane and Hervé Fabre. Their collaboration is what breathes life into the brand and sets it apart. As pioneers of Argentinian wine, they are the central figures in Viñalba’s story—its true heroes— and the narrative centres on their remarkable journey.

History

The wines are made by Bordeaux-born pioneer Hervé J. Fabre who was the first to make single varietal Argentine Malbec after recognising the true potential of the grape. Viñalba offers a range of beautifully crafted wines, combining Argentina's purity of fruit and clear varietal expression with the elegance and complexity which are the hallmarks of Hervé's classical background.

Regional Information

Patagonia is an exciting region for Argentine wine, and clearly has huge potential. Here the climate is significantly cooler, giving fresher wines with a more elegant, almost Old World style. The soils of our vineyards are deep, sandy and rocky which give our wines great personality.
