The Gruet family have been established in the village of Buxeuil in the terroir of Côte des Bar in the South of the Champagne region since 1670. Some plots near Buxeuil are named Gruet like “Bas Gruet” or “Sur Gruet”.

Champagne Gruet is located in the village of Buxeuil, in the Aube department, in the southern part of the Champagne region. The Côte des Bar is a terroir where Pinot Noir reigns supreme, accounting for approximately 85% of the vineyard area. It is followed by Chardonnay (around 10%)
The Côte des Bar vineyards extend over approximately 8,000 hectares, out of Champagne's total vineyard area of around 34,000 hectares.
