Morrisons The Best Barbera D'Asti

The inspiration behind the Best wine collection comes from our wine experts, who are passionate about sourcing exceptional quality wines from the world's finest wine producers. Like this Barbera d'Asti made in partnership with Araldica in Piemonte. We age the wine in a combination of large Slavonian oak barrels called Botti and French oak barriques for 12 months before being bottled to add further complexity.

Araldica aim to make expressive, yet uncomplicated Barbera from good quality grapes and careful vinification techniques. Attention to detail in both the vineyards and the winery, ensures the production of top quality wines, however it is the experience Araldica possess that allows them to be truly unique.

The Monferrato hills are home to some of the best quality grapes and vineyards in Piemonte. The warmer, southwest facing slopes are used to grow Barbera, allowing the grapes to achieve phenolic ripeness and balance the natural acidity with weight of fruit and tannin.
