Today, Monkey Shoulder is an epic blend of single malt Speyside Scotch whiskies inspired by Batch 27 – the Monkey Shoulder original recipe.

The iconic whisky bottle is complete with 3 monkeys, each representing a constituent single malt whisky. Rooted in malt whisky lore, the name references a strain injury playfully known as ‘monkey shoulder’ experienced by the William Grant & Sons malt men who turned malted barley by hand using large, heavy malt shovels. Thankfully, the condition no longer exists.

Brass Monkey - Monkey Shoulder on ice. Monkey layered on coke - Fill a glass with ice, add coke up to 2/3 full, then float a generous measure of Monkey Shoulder on top.

Great with mixers or on its own. We've been monkeying around with some cheeky takes on classic serves… How about on the rocks as a ‘Brass Monkey' (straight from the bottle), short as a ‘Lazy Old Fashioned' cocktail, long as a ‘Ginger Monkey' (for house parties) or hot as a ‘Monkey Hot Toddy' (for a winter warmer).
