History

Quinta da Calçada, one of the oldest producers in Vinho Verde, crafts premium white, rosé, and sparkling wines. Regional Information

The Vinho Verde region covers 20,000 ha of vineyards, worked by nearly 20,000 producers, most with plots under 1 ha. Stretching from the Atlantic to the Douro mountains, it receives 1,200-1,600 mm of rain yearly. Granite-based soils with sandy and loamy textures, plus shale and clay, nurture 20 white and 17 red grape varieties approved for DOC wines.

Vinification Details

The selected grapes were de-stemmed and gently pressed. The juice was extracted and decanted by gravity. It then fermented in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature for two weeks. Before bottling, the wine was filtered and stabilised.
