History

Domaine Guy Allion has been in the Allion family for 4 generations, though was only really dedicated to wine production in the late 1960s.
Cédric Allion, son of Guy, now runs the estate. This Domaine with its beautiful Touraine-style house made from tufa produces first class Sauvignon from vines grown on sandy-clay soil.

The château of Vaux Saint-Georges in the village of Thésée is an old style, 19th Century stately home. Originally it comprised 35 hectares of vineyards, which were successively sold by different owners in the 1930s. Today, the estate comprises 28 hectares of vines with magnificent exposure on clay loam hillsides on chalky subsoil.

Vinification Details

The Domaine is in the Cher Valley which enjoys an oceanic climate from the west, with fresh winters and cool summers. The vineyard is 20 to 25 years old with south/southwest exposures; and a vine density of 6000 vines/ha.
Our Domaine uses a lot of re-grafting with is a very careful procedure to heal a sick vine without having to replant it.
