Just add: butter & water
What you need:
- 65 g softened butter
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) cold water
Bake
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for fan assisted oven)/Gas Mark 4.
2. Carefully cut the stencils out from the inside of the box.
3. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper/baking parchment.
4. Empty the biscuit mix into a mixing bowl and add the butter.
5. Beat the mixture together until combined then mix in the water.
6. Knead the dough together on a worktop until it forms a ball (add a sprinkle of flour if it is too sticky).
7. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to approx. 5mm thick. Cut out one of the Christmas tree biscuits using one of the stencils.
8. Re-roll the dough and cut out the other Christmas tree biscuit using the other stencil.
9. Place the biscuits on the lined baking tray and bake in the centre of the oven for approx. 15-20 minutes.
10. Cool for 5 minutes on the baking tray then remove and leave to cool completely on a wire rack.
Decorate
11. Once completely cooled, decorate one side of each biscuit with the green frosting, writing icing, and sprinkles. Make sure to leave enough of each for decorating the other side of your biscuits.
12. Leave the decorated biscuits to set for 10 minutes.
13. Carefully lift the biscuits and slot them together to form the 3D tree.
14. Using the rest of the frosting, writing icing, and sprinkles, carefully decorate the remaining sides of the tree.
