Simply empty your sachet into a large measuring jug, add 3/4 pint (425ml) of water and whisk or stir until it's silky smooth. Let it stand for 1 minute and serve with your favourite dessert, from apple crumble to a classic steamed pudding, or pour over fruit such as berries and bananas for a quick and satisfying dessert. Bird's Instant Custard is the perfect companion. Add a touch more water for a thinner consistency or stir in a little sugar for added sweetness to create custard that's just right for you.

All you need
- Large jug
- Boiling hot water
Directions
1 Empty one sachet into a large measuring jug and pour on boiling hot water up to 3/4 pint (425ml) level.
2 Whisk (or stir with a fork) vigorously until smooth and creamy ensuring all the powder at the bottom is mixed in.
3 Stand for 1 minute before serving.
You make it special
For slightly thinner custard add more boiling water.
For sweeter custard stir in a little sugar.
