Tasting Notes
Using the world famous Pinot Noir variatal this wine shows typical characteristics of wild cherries and floral aromas, with a palate reminiscent of wild berries and raspberries with just a hint of vanilla and white peaches on the finish.
History
Enoitalia has grown significantly under the guidance of Giorgio Pizzolo, its CEO, and his three brothers Augusto, Giuliano and Floriano. The company, founded in 1986 with just over 7 million bottles of wine per year has now reached a volume of over 85 million bottles. With more than 50 suppliers for dry goods and more than 100 wine suppliers located all over Italy, Enoitalia offers high flexibility in terms of varietals, styles and packaging solutions.
Regional Information
Lombardy is one of Italy's largest regions situated in the north of the country, sharing a border with Switzerland. Stretching from the Alps to the lowlands of the Po Valley, it is home to a wide range of landscapes, including the breathtaking mountain chain that boasts the Valchiavenna, Valtellina and the Camonica Valley. The region annually produces around 1.3 million hectolitres of wine.
Vinification Details
Early and mid- harvested grapes, immediately chilled on pressing. Wine remains on lees for extraction of colour using natural yeasts for up to 5days. Temperature of fermentation at 21 - 23 degrees and then racking of wine from skin contact for final fermentation in temperature controlled tanks. The wine is fined and left in tanks for up to two months prior to bottling, filtration and only as wine is required, so that the wines remain under cold temperature in so retaining the youthful fresh style.
