This was a lovely preserve that I used as a substitute for treacle in a Jamaican ginger cake. However, after carefully scraping the jar out it was 10g lighter than stated on the label. Same with the rhubarb and ginger one I bought.
All Mackays preserves have remarkably good tastes but the ginger preserve tops the lot. On pancakes, delicious.
Just thinking about them makes me feel like making batter and who cares about the calories,Mmm,lovely.
