Don’t bother
Awful wine. Far too much tannin. Very dry & not much fruitiness at all. Almost like vinegar! Cannot recommend at all. How other reviewers say it’s good must mean vintage effects the quality. This one was 2019. Avoid!
good value sulphite-free red
Pour and be patient, if not this red wine will appear sharp. If you wait a while the flavours will come through. Good value organic sulphite free red wine.
Half-corked
We tried this the other evening and it tasted like it was half-corked .. not nice at all, such a shame as I thought it would be a lovely, addititive-free wine
Treat it right
2017 vintage. This wine is packed full of juicy flavour, a rich dark wine that might not suit palates that prefer an easy drinking soft fruity red. I imagine it could be harsh if drunk straight from the bottle, cold, so treat it well - let it breath and come to room temperature. Drunk this way, we found it rich and enjoyable. Not as spicy as a Shiraz, or soft as the better Merlots, but full of its own character - rich, licorice fruit. I think the lack of sulphites gives it a natural feel too.
Not so great....
I bought this to try and the first bottle was OK... When I got to the end of the bottle though there was quite a bit of sediment left in my glass. Ordered another bottle this week and it tastes very bitter and not so great. Still searching for a good Organic wine
Great flavour at reasonable price
For an organic Rioja you can’t do better for the price. We love this and it’s going to be a regular in my shopping basket!
