
Ingredients
- 10 g of vinegar
- 20 g of honey
- 30 g of reduced salt soy sauce
- 2 tsps of cornflour
- 40 g of sesame seeds
- 200 g of raw king prawns
- 6 slices of slices white bread
- 1 egg white, Use the yolk for brushing the prawn toast with before shallow frying
- 10 g of ginger
- 4 g of oil
- 0.5 tsps of chinese five spice, optional
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees.Step 2
Blend the prawns with the cornflour, egg white, ginger and chinese five spice with a touch of salt.Step 3
Spread the prawn mousse onto the bread, then brush the bread in the beaten egg yolk. Next place the bread onto a plate of sesame seeds, pushing down to coat it well. It’s a good idea to put down about 10g of sesame seeds on the plate each time you dip a new slice of bread into them.Step 4
Heat your oil in a frying pan. Place the sesame prawn toast face down onto the frying pan and cook till golden brown, after 2-3 minutes turn over and cook till golden brown, once cooked, place back into the oven and cook for 5-10 minutes, while you cook the rest of the slices.Step 5
Make dressing/dip by mixing the ingredients together.Step 6
Cut the toasts into quarters and serve with the dip and if eating as a light lunch enjoy with a crisp salad.
