Soberano represents the “spirit of Spain”, the vine in a glass, with a hundred years of history behind it, it's flavour speaks of landscapes, gastronomy and traditions… and, above all, the lifestyle of Spain and its people. Distilled in copper stills, our master distillers apply ancestral knowledge to extract the soul from the wine. From here it is taken to the legendary Gonzalez Byass Cellars to age in seasoned Oloroso Sherry casks. Over 5 years the traditional criaderas and solera system creates an exceptional Soberano Reserva brandy. Enjoy the tastes of toasted caramel and oak with a long lasting finish.

History
Created by Gonzalez Byass in the late 19th Century, Soberano is the leading Spanish brandy in both Spain and the UK.
Regional Information
Gonzalez Byass was founded in 1835 in the town of Jerez, Andalucia, in Southern Spain by Manuel M.Gonzalez. The company is still in the hands of the founding family, now in its 5th generation.
Vinification Details
Soberano is produced from Airén grapes grown in the La Mancha region of Spain. Once picked, the Airén grapes are pressed in Gonzalez Byass distillery and the best musts are chosen for fermentation.

Save your money

This is the worst tasting brandy Ive ever had, first off it is not smooth as described and has a vile chemical smell, neat it is horrid and if you add coke it is still not enjoyable, Avoid- ps Brandy is my drink of choice.

Smooth easy drinking brandy

It's not cognac but is is a very good Spanish brandy at an excellent price. Smooth taste and very morish!

Chocolatey Smooth

I have been buying this Spanish Brandy and another brand for years. Spanish Brandy is a lot smoother to the palate than french Brandy. It as a slightly sweet chocolate taste and is very morish. Lovely

SOBERANO 5 Spanish Brandy

I have tried other superstores brands but Morrison's Soberano 5 Spanish Brandy is my favourite. Much smoother to the palate that the other brands and will certainly have a bottle or two in for Christmas.

Lovely smooth brandy

As others, I first got into this Brandy in Spain, A beautifully smooth brandy with just a hint of sweetness, The offer price of £13 make it a terrific buy

Disappointing!

I bought this brandy because two reviews sang its praises. I have to say I really disagree. It has a plasticky caramel flavour. My only instinct is to try and disguise it. Would pitch it if I could afford to do so. For a budget brandy, I would stick with Morrison's 3 year old . Far more palatable.
