Recipes

Spinach Saag
Ingredients:
300g Shana Chopped Spinach
1 Onion (chopped)
1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger
2 tsp. Garam Masala
1 tbsp. Oil
2 Garlic Cloves (minced)
1 can Tomatoes
3 tbsp. Plain Yogurt
1 1/4 tsp. Curry Powder
1 1/2 tsp. Ground Coriander
Pinch Cumin Powder
3/4 tsp. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 cup Water

Method:
Heat oil in a pan and add onion, ginger and garam masala. Sauté until onions are translucent.
Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Then, add tomatoes and cook for 2 - 3 minutes.
Stir in yogurt and then add curry powder, coriander, cumin, sugar, and salt.
Add Shana Spinach and mix well. Then, add water and cover to simmer in medium heat for 30 minutes.
Remove the lid and cook off any remaining liquid. Puree the Spinach using blender or food processor. Leave it as chunky as you like. Add salt to taste.
Ideal accompaniments with this dish are Shana Parathas, Shana Chapattis or Shana Naans!
