On The Hob:
Mix 40g of oats with 275ml of milk (or cold water) in a saucepan and bring to the boil.
Simmer for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve with sugar or salt to taste.

Family Recipe No 5
Haddock Oat Pie
Preparation and cooking time: 45 minutes
Serves 4-6
This heart warming pie is best served with steamed vegetables or with a green leaf salad.
Look out for other delicious recipes on our Scott's Porage Oats packs.
1 tbsp oil
1 onion, peeled and diced
2 peppers, cored, de-seeded and sliced
125g button mushrooms, sliced
2 x 400g cans peeled, chopped tomatoes
1 vegetable stock cube
450g Haddock (smoked or unsmoked), pre-filleted and cubed
25g mixed fresh parsley and tarragon, chopped
Salt and ground pepper
200g Scott's Porage Oats
75g low fat margarine
Preheat oven to 190C, 375F, Gas Mark 5.
Heat oil in a large pan, add onion, peppers and mushrooms and fry for 5 minutes.
Stir in tomatoes, stock cube, fish and half the herbs. Bring to the boil the simmer, stirring for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and season to taste. Pour into a large ovenproof dish.
Mix the Scott's Porage Oats and remaining herbs together and rub in the margarine. Cover top of dish evenly with oat topping.
Bake for 25 minutes until light golden brown.
Haddock Oat Pie

Serves 4-6

I always bought the other brand but thought I would try this one but I wish I stuck to the other brand because this one didnt cook the same it just seemed to be watery rather than creamy no matter which way I cooked it.
