Preparation and Usage
For our recipe you will need ...
1 sachet Schwartz Somerset Pork Casserole Recipe Mix
1 tbs oil
450g (1lb) lean pork, cubed
1 large onion, diced
300ml (1/2 pint) water
1 apple, cored and sliced
Directions ...
1. Pre-heat oven to 190°C, 375°F, Gas Mark 5.
2. Heat oil, fry pork and onion for 3-4 minutes. Transfer to a casserole dish.
3. Mix sachet contents with water and add to casserole dish. Cover and cook for 1 hour or until meat is tender, adding the apple for the last 30 minutes.
4. Serve with sautéed potatoes.
Hints & Tips ...
Also delicious with pork chops or skinless chicken breasts, drumsticks or thighs. Why not try adding sliced celery with the apple, or replacing the water with cider.

Try Something Different: Ideal with cubed roast potatoes and green beans. For a change, replace the water with cider and swirl in a little double cream at the end of cooking. Also delicious with chicken breasts.

Just tastes bizarre
Like Schwartz have some old leftover dried herbs to get rid of and this was what they came up with.

Not vegetarian
Unfortunately this product is no longer vegetarian. It used to be but Schwartz have unfortunately changed it. Very sad - it was delicious.

Easy to make in a slow cooker throw it all in and add cider to make it better.

Scrumptious
Coming from Somerset we love our cider so trying this out was a must and boy oh boy do we love this! We cook this with diced pork with carrots, onions, mushrooms, sliced peppers, celery, bramley apples and a good dollop of apple sauce oh and of course the sauce mix is made with the best Somerset cider. Umm yummy, simply melt in the mouth beautiful, the whole family is guaranteed to clear their plates with this one.
