Product Information
This Special Edition of Pata Negra Rioja Crianza has an appealing ruby-colour and a delicate texture. On the nose, red fruit aromas stand out over a more complex background, which combines vanilla, clove and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is tasty and structured, leaving a soft sensation due to its 12 months ageing in barrel.
History
Marqués de Carrión is situated in the village of Labastida, at the foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria mountain chain, surrounded by beautiful vineyards. This area belongs to Rioja Alavesa, one of the three sub regions that Rioja consists of. Since 1898, the elaboration of the best wines have taken place here, creating long-lasting, aged red wines, which spend time in our 25,000 barrels from 12 to 36 months.

Grapes selected from old vines in the best slopes of Sonsierra. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at temperatures of 28-32 ° C, with numerous pumping and prolonged maceration with the skins for 3 weeks. On to cement tanks where malolactic fermentation completes, followed by racking. Barrelled where it remains for 18 months, alternating between French and American oak of varying ages with aerated racked every 6 months. From there it rests on the racks of our winery in Marqués de Carrión for refinement.
