Rather disappointed
Im afraid it is both thin and ungenerous. To be a Ripasso it is extremely thin on the nose. You need to search hard to find any Ripasso notes. The same goes with the mouthfeel and aftertaste. You would expect something more from something branded as the Best. Im sorry to say, but even with the discount it isnt worth its price.
Good value ripasso
Had this a few times. Last years vintage was better but it is still a good value ripasso with subtle dry fruit flavours.
ok
Quite a light bodied wine. Not my idea of a wine for grilled steak. Wine was fair and fruity, I would give it 6 out of 10 and therefore wouldnt be looking to spend more than six pounds so its underweight and not a buy recommendation for me.
Disappointing
With five star reviews I thought I'd give it a try .... it was smooth enough, but a little thin, at the price OK for a Valpolicella, however, there was not a hint of the Amarone skins that it is associated with. I have tried others where the flavour from the skins has been far more prominent and the wine has more depth to it. SAD!!
one of the best Italian wines I have tasted lately
excellent, not harsh, easy to drink. bought it to serve with Duck Ragu & pasta after being advised to try it on BBC Saturday Kitchen. I love it. will definitely buy it again.
Ridiculously priced
For Ripasso fans this is exceptional value at £6.49. As a consumer I love it, as a shareholder I am wondering where the profit margin is here?
