Brand Marketing

The inspiration behind The Best wine collection comes from our wine experts, who are passionate about sourcing exceptional quality wines from the world's finest wine producers. Like this Negroamaro produced in partnership with San Marzano in the region of Puglia in the heel of Italy. One of the region's classic varieties, Negroamaro was brought to Italy by the Greeks in the 7th century BC and owes its name to its colour.

History

Cantine San Marzano was established in 1962, when 19 vine growers from San Marzano di San Giuseppe, whose families had farmed the land for generations, joined forces to maximise their efforts. Today, Cantine San Marzano brings together some 1,200 vine growers and has over 1,500 hectares of vineyards.

Regional Information

The Apulia region makes up the south-eastern corner of Italy. Located between two seas the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian the vineyards are situated on land where vines and olive trees flourish side by side. The vineyard's soils and the Mediterranean terroir play a fundamental role in the production of the wines. The climate is extreme, with droughts, frosts and the sirocco winds, all providing challenges to the talented winemakers.
