Cono Sur vineyards & winery was founded in 1993 with a vision of producing premium, expressive and innovative wines that convey the spirit of the new world. The company distinguishes itself by three main features: the creative use of technology, orientation towards quality and respect for the environment. Cono Sur´s name refers the company´s geographic position, representing wines proudly made in South America´s southern cone, on whose western edge lies Chile and its gifted wine valleys

This wine is made with grapes grown in vineyards in the Rapel Valley which is a sub-region of the Central Valley. The Central Valley is known as one of the most privileged and developed regions in the country. It has a temperate Mediterranean climate with a dry and luminous ripening season, diverse soils and precise humidity and temperature patterns

Vinification Details
Grapes destemmed and crushed after a brief cool maceration, full fermentation starts running at 29 ° C for 7 days at pump over for colour extraction. The alcoholic fermentation is followed by natural malolactic fermentation, after separation from the grape solids. A portion of the blend is aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. The wine is chilled for tartrate stabilisation and the finished product is ready to bottled after final filtration.

very nice red, we find it smooth and full of flavour, if you like Rioja and other full bodied reds you'll like this one
