Preparation And Usage
You will need:
150ml (10 tbsp) semi- skimmed milk.
Milk or beaten egg to glaze.
Oven
220°C, Fan 200°C, Gas 7, 15 min
Pre-heat the oven to 220°C / Fan 200°C / Gas Mark 7 and lightly grease a baking sheet.
Empty the scone mix into a mixing bowl and add the milk. Knead the mixture very lightly to form a soft, smooth dough.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to approximately 2.5cm thick and cut into 6 rounds using a 6cm cutter.
Place on the baking sheet and brush with milk or beaten egg for a glaze.
Cook in oven for 15 mins until well risen or golden brown. Cool on a cooling rack.
For a fruity option, add 75g of sultanas or chopped glace cherries to the mix at step 2.
