This whole, stuffed British chicken in an ovenable bag makes cooking a sensational roast simple. Our roasting bag locks in flavour and moisture to keep your chicken succulent with cooking juices that make the most mouth-watering gravy.

The tender chicken is filled with pork, sage & onion stuffing and makes for a tasty teatime with traditional vegetables, roasted potatoes and homemade gravy. Try serving with our Yorkshire puddings recipe to treat your family.

Cooking Guidelines

Oven cook - From Chilled. Cooking appliances vary. These instructions are given as a guide. Please ensure that the product is piping hot throughout before serving. Pre-heat your oven to 200°C/400°F Gas 6 and place the chicken in its bag on a baking sheet in the centre of the oven. Do not open or pierce the bag before cooking. Cook for 1 hour and 45 minutes. If you want the skin to be more crisp, remove the chicken from the oven at the end of cooking time and open the bag by slitting down the front with a knife or scissors. Return the chicken to the oven for a further 10 mins. Remove and pierce the thickest part of the breast meat with a skewer to check that there is no pink meat and the juices run clear. If more cooking is required, return to the oven. Continue cooking for a further 15 mins and retest. Take care when opening the bag as steam will escape and there will be a lot of cooking juices. Allow to rest 5-10 mins before carving. Serve and enjoy.

Preparation And Usage

Pop your Cook in the Bag chicken on a baking tray in the middle of a pre-heated oven. For crispy skin, slit the bag open at the end of the cooking time and roast for a further 10 minutes.

Our fuss-free bag not only locks in flavour but also leaves you with cooking juices that make the most mouth-watering gravy!

Just follow our chef's easy recipe...
1 Pour the juices into a pan
2 Stir in a tablespoon of flour
3 Add 130-150ml of hot chicken stock and simmer for 8-10 minutes
4 Strain through a sieve, serve and enjoy!
