Prosecco has been around for quite a few centuries so it's fair to say the Italians know a good thing when they see it. Mind you, Prosecco hasn't always been to everyone's liking, but not so today. Much improved production techniques have made a delicious difference. Now, a good Prosecco, like this corker from Menestrello, is nice and fruity with a lovely hint of sweetness. it has a delicate lemony scent on top of its soft peachy flavours, so try it with your fave chicken dish or something fishy. Go glam and mix it with some peach juice and you've got yourself your own version of the Bellini cocktail. It's the favoured tipple of the glitterati who mingle at the famous Harry's Bar in Venice.

Tasting Notes
Menestrello Prosecco is a lovely pale lemon colour with fine bubbles. It has floral aromas and hints of citrus and white stone fruits. On the palate is has peach and lemony flavours and lots of bubbles rounded off with a crisp finish.
History
Menestrello Prosecco is made at the new Bacio della Luna winery which lies in the village of Vidor, in the heart of Valdobbiadene Prosecco region. It is located 50 km from Venice, in the hilly strip of the Province of Treviso lying between the Dolomites and the Adriatic sea.
Regional Information
The landscape surrounding the winery is breath-taking with high terraced vineyards on steep slopes. Glera Prosecco grapes have been tendered on theses hillsides for decades and the growers have created their vineyards bit by bit, thus creating a unique landscape whose beauty is such that the producers have applied for the area to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Vinification Details
The grapes are softly pressed to obtain the must, which is then filtered and refrigerate in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks which retain all the freshness of the fruit. Fermentation takes places between 18°C and 22°C. When this has finished the wine is then stabilised and the sparkling wine-making process follows. Here second fermentation occurs using the Charmat method.

Lovely

Very quaffable! A dry prosecco with a light hint of peach but not too fruity or sweet - just how I like it!

Refined small bubbles, fragrant and not too dry.

Wish I had ordered more, I see some negative comments on this wine, am wondering what wine they were drinking? but definitely not the wine I am drinking.

Lovely

A really nice prosecco it you like it dry which I do. However, it's not extra dry as some reviews state but a nice prosecco overall. Would definitely recommend.

Extra dry.. not fruity. Disappointed :(

We only buy prosecco once a year for the festive period.. but this was not enjoyable, even as bucks fizz. Buyer beware.. the other reviewer stating this is correct! However if you like extra dry, then crack on :)

Strange after taste

I'm a huge fan of Prosecco and thought id give this one a try as it was on offer. The only way to describe this prosecco is like very fizzy water with a strange after taste, certainly will not be buying this one again!
