Preparation And Usage
Please retain instructions for future use.
Cleaning and Sterilising
- Before first use, clean the teat and place it in boiling water for 5 minutes. This is to ensure hygiene.
- Before each subsequent use, carefully clean the teat in warm soapy water. Rinse well with clean water before sterilising, in order to ensure hygiene. Avoid harmful ingredients in the soap such as alcohol, chlorine, and/or microplastics. Do not leave the teat standing in the cleaning detergent like soapy water longer than recommended - this could negatively affect the product function.
- Dishwasher safe in top rack (max. 65°C/149°F) but food colourings may discolour the teat.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents. Only soft bristle brushes or soft sponges should be used.
- After cleaning, sterilise using one of the following methods: steam sterilising (electric or microwave according to manufacturer's instructions), boiling in water for at least 5 minutes or immersing in a liquid sterilising solution. After sterilising allow teat to cool down.
- Do not leave the teat in sterilising solutions longer than recommended, or leave in direct sunlight or heat - this could negatively affect the product function and may weaken the teat.
- Ensure no residual food remains in the teat after cleaning and sterilising.
Further important information
- When first used and sometimes during use, the ventilation slit (in the raised bubble on the underside of the teat base) can stick together. This will prevent air from entering the bottle during feeding and as a result, cause the teat to collapse. Slowly brush over the bubble (ventilation) a few times with your thumb or fingers to re-open the slit.
- Inspect all individual bottle parts before each use and pull the feeding teat in all directions. Replace at the first signs of damage or wear.
- Do not use pin or sharp object to enlarge feeding hole.
- Use sugar free foods or liquids only.
- Store teats in a dry sealed container. Bottle teat fits all Mam Bottles and the Trainer+.
- Insert teat into top of bottle screw ring until you hear a "click".
- Teats must be replaced every 1-2 months for hygiene and safety reasons.
