Brand Marketing
At Las Chicas (that means "the girls" by the way), we believe that women are the beating heart of Mexican cuisine. But here’s the thing, only 7% of head chefs worldwide are women (not cool right?). We can do better. From collaborating with Mexican chefs to develop our recipes, to supporting the next generation of female chefs with our Las Chicas Collective Initiative, we have big ambitions to champion women and help close the culinary gender gap. Preparation And Usage
Cheesy tortillas filled with spiced and fruity pork. Dip in salsa Roja for a sweet and spicy kick.
Fierce flavours in just 4 steps
Step 1
Prep: Fire up the oven to 180°C. Slice the pork and mix with the Las Chicas Al Pastor Cooking Paste (the smaller sachet) in a bowl-set aside and let the pork marinate while you prep the rest. If you have time leave to marinate for longer for even fiercer flavours! Chop the coriander and quarter the limes - we'll use these later.
Step 2
Sizzle: Add a good glug of oil to a frying pan and cook the pork on a medium-high heat for about 4-5 mins, giving it a good stir as you go. Then turn the heat down and simmer on low heat for another 5-7 mins until cooked through.
Step 3
Bake: Take the Las Chicas Tortillas out of the bag. On each half of each tortilla, place some pork, a good sprinkle of cheese and coriander, and fold in half. Place all the assembled quesadillas onto a baking tray and bake until gloriously golden, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 4
Assemble: Take the quesadillas out of the oven, and drizzle some lime and the remaining coriander on top. Either top with the Las Chicos Salsa Roja, or serve the Salsa in a bowl on the side, and dip your quesadillas in.
To buy:
300g pork loin or belly, or plant based substitute
100g grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
1 bunch of coriander
1 lime
