The worst whiskey I ever tasted

Very strange whiskey with notes of smoked mackerel. Even coke is not killing it's after taste. Will keep it for unwanted guests.

Acquired taste

"Intense and smokey", "peated malt" it says it all on the label. I can't understand the reviewers who drank it on price alone! For those who like their single malt to have fervour. If you like this you will probably enjoy Talisker which has a seaweedy flavour.

Absolutely superb peated malt.

It's truly scary when people give a whisky like this 1 star. Scary because these people have zero idea what they are drinking. Maybe stick to a nice fruit based drink eh? Anyhoo... Glen Moray Peated Malt is exceptional, both for price and for quality. It has the purest peaty nose you'll find. It's not an Islay peat, this is something quite special. It's Highland peat as whisky is meant to be, but is so hard to find. There is nothing, absolutely nothing bad I can say about this stuff, expect it is so difficult to find. If you want a beautiful peated malt, not just smoke from charred barrels, then this is the one to get. I know this because I'm a frequently drunk Scotsman, who's consumed more bottles this year than most 'whisky folk' do in a decade. It's ok though as we Scots have evolved more resistant livers than regular folk.

Excellent Xmas Gift

Nose and Palate is as described on the box. However, there is something nice that happens to the aroma after the first tasting. The pallet is probably better than the nose, with those famous Glen Moray vanillas dancing off your tongue. This scotch, however, is probably not a good gift for someone beginning the journey. It's for those that understand the importance of the relationship between nose and palate. Enjoy!

Like Talisker and Laphroaig but on a budget?

Then this'll do nicely. For a peaty single malt, this is an excellent buy at 18 quid a bottle.

Can I give it no stars

Very strange taste, smell and after taste. I thought 18 quid was too good to be true, it was. Avoid at all costs. If you like whiskey, don’t buy this.
