A peachy honeyed spritzy wine that Jancis Robinson called "a summery steal". And it really is bursting with delicious flavours of peach, honey, and ripe citrus in a delightfully light (and lower alcohol) style.

Here's one from left field. A lightly sweet, slightly fizzy and fully fabulous summer drinker from those nice chaps at Gallo. They suggest its honeyed sweetness is a wonderful contrast to spicy Asian take-out or Mexican dishes, and complements everyday desserts. And wine critic Jancis Robinson enthused: "No, I have not gone mad. I tasted Gallo Family Vineyards Moscato 2011 California, a vintage-dated, sweet, low-alcohol, very slighty fizzy Muscat … and was very impressed. Here's my tasting note: 'Slight spritz. Clean as a whistle. Reminds me of Moscato d'Oro from Mondavi. Usefully light. Not heavy. Not tired. Go for it!'"

The grapes for this Gallo Family Vineyards Pinot Grigio were harvested from select vineyards in California. This area is prized for its ideal climate and growing conditions, and the grapes in this wine have thrived here. Pinot Grigio is a classic Italian varietal prized for its crisp texture and refreshing mouthfeel. This combined with the new technologies available to Gallo Family Vineyards winemakers has resulted in a Pinot Grigio with a style all its own.

Vinification Details
The grapes for Gallo Family Vineyards Pinot Grigio were harvested at optimum ripeness during cool night temperatures to preserve the fresh fruit flavours. The winemaker selected particularly aromatic yeast strains and employed a moderate fermentation process, which together have enhanced the natural flavours and expressive mouthfeel of this wine. Proper storage after fermentation has preserved the natural bright flavours and balance in the wine.

I only like sweet wines and iv searched for one I like for years and eventually found another supermarket brand one that was a dupe to this (which I didn't know it was) I absolutely love this wine on a summer and winter evening.
