History
The 2019 season started out normal. There was a significant rain event in mid-May. Post rain event had excellent growing conditions for the rest of the season. The season brought consistent temperatures with just enough heat for good canopy growth, development of flavours, and ripening without impacting acidity.
Regional Information
About 100 kilometres from San Francisco and sitting at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, California's Central Valley produces Chardonnay fruit of outstanding quality. Consistently favourable weather conditions create a growing season in which the grapes enjoy plenty of hang time. Not only does this region enjoy the benefits of the natural protection and favourable microclimate provided by the Sierra Nevada's, but its soil is also rich in minerals.

Vinification Details
The grapes for Barefoot Chardonnay were harvested at optimum ripeness, which allowed for easy extraction of rich colour and velvety tannins. The winemaker selected aromatic yeast strains and employed a warm fermentation process, which has resulted in a wine with more flavour and fruitier aromatics. Proper storage after fermentation has helped to build complexity on the palate and bring a nice balance to the wine.

Good standard Australian Chardonnay

Not buttery as name suggests, but smooth and pleasant enough with sweetness and tropical fruits.

I'm afraid this wine was a bit sweet for me i almost got a smell of crème brûlée with a hint of vanilla and honey .

Quality Wine

Barefoot is my go to. Depending on what you are eating (if having with food) it can be a little on the dry side. Goes well with pasta dishes

I enjoy a xhardonnay usually but this was a bit tasteless. I had with a chicken meal but wasny half as dry as id expect a chardonnay to be. I dont thibk i will buy again but nice try. Shared with my partner who agrees

A good value for money Chardonnay

It has a kind of smooth and almost creamy texture.This Chardonnay is part of the Barefoot brand range of wines which offers value and quality.Best served chilled as an aperitif.I tried it with Spanish olives on the side.
