Turkey Mince Bolognaise

A traditional slow cooked family favourite with high protein, low fat Turkey Mince. Be sure to keep some spare as this is a great leftover lunch.

    Fry off your turkey mince in some oil before removing from the pan and placing in a bowl.

    Using the Red Wine deglaze the pan and add the liquid to the bowl of mince.

    Add some more oil to the pan and fry off your bacon, carrots, mushrooms. garlic, celery, carrot and leek. Fry for 5 minutes.

    Return your mince to the pan before adding your tomato puree - cook for a further 3 minutes.

    Add the remainder of your wet ingredients, sugar and salt and cook for 1-2 hours.

    Your bolognaise will be ready to serve with a pasta of your choice.


  • 250g 7% Fat Turkey Thigh Mince
  • 100g Red Wine
  • 35g Olive Oil
  • 20g Bacon , diced
  • 100g Chestnut Mushrooms , chopped
  • 125g White Onion , chopped finely
  • 5g Garlic, minced
  • 20g Celery, finely diced
  • 35g Carrot, finely diced
  • 20g Leek, finely diced
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • .3g Dried Oregano
  • 20g Tomato Puree
  • 100g Tomato Passata
  • 390g Tinned Chopped Tomatoes
  • 56g Chicken Stock
  • 4g White Caster Sugar
  • 2g Salt
