Place 100g dark chocolate and 50g unsalted butter in a bowl and melt in the microwave for 1-2 mins* (or over a pan of simmering water).

Stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1 tbsp golden syrup, then gradually beat in 200g icing sugar until a stiff paste is formed.

Form into 16 balls and roll in chocolate sugar strands. Leave to set. Store for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.
