Great bread
I brought this as a clearance flash sale and it was lovely. My husband and I ate it all in 1 sitting. Not sure what the negative reviews were expecting
sourdough
Wanted sourdough - got this instead returned !!
do not buy!
Tastes no different from average bread but much more expensive and the loaf is TINY!!! right con. Dont fall for it!
Dry and tasteless
Terribly overpriced rubbish bread
If \x27old English\x27 means mothers pride
Fine for what it is, but it is basically Chorley Wood fluff, no substance, so I'm going back to the Polish bread. Which is 1.20 for a big loaf - I was too lazy to go and get it so it's my own fault
Read. Heed. Lest you too fall victim to this bread
Mr Warburton is sat up high in his Old English Ivory Tower laughing at us; at you; at me. He knows that if he slaps on a ludicrous price tag and calls it "Old English White" you will buy it. We did. Perhaps you have family coming round for lunch and you want to get out "the nice bread". Perhaps your mum is visiting you at uni and you want her to feel that you're doing ok. Well, let me save you the heartbreak and embarrassment. This is cheap, thin, white bread and the most galling of all, it's a tiny loaf. At first you laugh along with Mr Warburton when it arrives, it's all you can do when your brain is so confused by its size. Ha. Then, that brain slowly recalls the price. One-sixty for this?! ONE POUND SIXTY?! "Can't be" you say to your partner, "I wouldn't have, I couldn't have". You did. If you have the money, buy this alongside Morrison's own medium white bread for 50p and compare. There won't be much in it, but one will be >3x more expensive. Or, go to Marks and Spencer and spend £1.25 on their own farmhouse bread - delicious - and REALLY see how ridiculous this bread is. Old English White, yes, I think I know where they got the name. Remember the terrible white bread that used to be around 30 years ago? It resembles that. Please, don't be the butt of Mr Warburton's jokes anymore. You have been forewarned. Let's make Old English White a thing of you past.
