There's nothing private about this big show-off of a super Sauvignon. It's a perfectly honed, lithe beauty of a wine, bursting with crisp gooseberries and limes. Try it with a plate of oysters on ice or any fine seafood.

Another triumph of the New Zealand climate where Marlborough's long sunny days and cool nights lead to a long ripening season and a unique combination of very ripe fruit alongside fresh acidity. This Villa Maria boasts a medley of intense, ripe, herbaceous aromas followed by rich gooseberry, lime and tropical fruit characteristics in the mouth. It's a big barnstormer of a Sauvignon Blanc and deserves top quality seafood as a partner. Of course, that's a suggestion, not a rule - we uncapped one with a packet of Twiglets and Strictly and it made for a perfect Saturday night!

Strong and acidic wine. Not worth the original price of £9.75 per bottle.

Unfortunately, this Sauvignon Blanc is very average. Abit sweet with a weird taste.. Didnt finish the bottle.
