As Official Wine Partner of the world's largest ocean race, we are proud to support the brave people changing their worlds and exploring their adventurous side in this year's Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
One of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other, the race is taken on by ordinary, everyday people. With no previous sailing experience necessary, it's a 40,000 nautical mile race around the world on board 70-foot ocean racing yachts.
Having completed a rigorous training course, crew members are suited and booted in the latest extreme protection gear to commence the race of their lives - an unparalleled challenge where taxi drivers rub shoulders with chief executives and students work alongside bankers.
Anyone over 18 can take part in the race, the only requirement is a good level of fitness and a thirst for adventure into the unknown! Twelve teams compete in the race, each with a fully qualified skipper to safely guide them around the world. Can you believe more people have climbed Everest than have circumnavigated the world's oceans? Divided into eight legs and 16 individual races, crews can complete the 11 month long odyssey or select individual legs.
There is nowhere to hide - if Mother Nature throws down the gauntlet, you must be ready to face the same challenges as the pro racer.

History
The vines were planted between 2000 and 2004. Choice of cultivar clone and rootstock were well selected in the rich soils that the Western Cape offers. Vines are pruned to deliver well balanced crop and vineyard practices gets managed accordingly. The need for irrigation gets monitored on a weekly basis to ensure the vines never stress during ripening phase
Regional Information
A Mediterranean climate dominates the Western Cape with the coastal regions influenced by nearby oceans - The Cold Benguala current (Atlantic ocean) from the South Pole flows along the western coast and the warmer Mozambique current (Indian ocean) follows the South coast.

Vinification Details
The grapes were harvested in the early morning to preserve all the flavours and aromas. After gentle destalking, the grapes are crushed and moved to stainless steel tanks where pre-fermentation maceration takes place for 3 days at 10 degrees Celsius. Standard maceration follows with 2 pump overs and the grapes left to ferment until dry.

This wine is absolutely spot on for a catch up with mates, nothing special but absolute bargain for £3 a bottle

A definite No
Had high hopes for this wine box, I like Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio but not together. The price sort of gives it away, you get what you pay for.
