This used to be one of my favourite quick meals when teamed with a pack of microwave rice. But now they've changed the recipe it's virtually inedible - my best guess is they've added some kind of fake thickener like MSG because it now has an awful gloopy texture. What a shame.
I assume this is a 'New and Improved' product in place of the excellent STAGG LOW FAT VEGETABLE CHILI which was approved by this Vegetarian Society. The new version does not say it is suitable for vegetarians. An email to the manufacturing company in Denmark received no response. How can a large increase in fat content, an increase in salt content, an increase in calories,a reduction in the tomatoes be an improved recipe? Taste is a personal opinion. It is OK but to me it is inferior to the original product and too salty.Compared to the original I would not recommend this product.
We've tried a few different ready-made veg chillis and this is definitely the best. My 15 year old now cooks this for himself quite often so it helps to keep his veg intake up. It's a bit on the dear side but stretches to two servings with rice/chips etc so worth it.
Tasty but too expensive to buy again especially considering there is far too much salt in it.
oil free and tasty, just a bit pricey though
This is just expensive spicy vegetable soup not chilli at all, it's not awful but it isn't chilli.
