Cooking Guidelines
As all appliances may vary, these are guidelines only.
Remove casing and clips and ensure haggis is piping hot before serving.; Microwave - From Chilled. Remove the haggis from all packaging, including casing and metal clips. Slice into chunks and place in a microwavable dish. Cover with clingfilm, pierce film and cook on full power (800W) for 3 minutes. Remove dish from microwave, carefully peel back film as hot steam will be generated. Gently break up haggis with a fork, re-cover with the clingfilm and return to the microwave to cook for a further 2 minutes. Once ready, carefully remove the film due to more hot steam and serve.; Oven cook - From Chilled. Preheat oven to approximately 190°C (170°C for fan assisted) / Gas Mark 5. Wrap the haggis (with casing and clips as found) tightly in tin foil. Place the haggis in an oven proof dish and fill with boiling water to half way up the haggis. Cover with a lid and place in the preheated oven for 75 minutes. Check the water level from time to time during cooking and top up if required. Once ready, remove from the dish and carefully remove the tin foil. Carefully slice open the haggis casing to serve the steaming hot haggis.; Shallow Fry - From Chilled. Not for me
Never tried Haggis before and thought I would give it a try... salty, gritty, indefinable meat... not my taste at all....
Nice taste
not able to get haggis from home so been able to find this, is close enough and enjoyed by all the family
Very disappointing
Nothing like the sort of haggis I have enjoyed for 70+ years. When I look at the list of ingredients this is not surprising - no lamb liver or heart and the main ingredient is pork lungs. I am astonished that this claims to be the UK’s number one selling haggis. I wouldn’t buy it again. There are many better, tastier alternatives .
Really good!
This is lovely Haggis and, as we dont live in Scotland, our go to when we run out of our ultimate haggis supply from Black Adder butchers in Glasgow! Would recommend frying slices with a cooked breakfast, mixing with sausage meat to make scotch eggs, topping a pizza, so many recipes yet to try!
yuk
it must be an acquired taste. it smells horrible and tastes just as bad!
HAGGIS FOR HAGGIS FANS!
Pretty good this one. Okay not quite up to the 'proper' original from Scotland - but really tasty. Sliced it and pan fried. Served with crushed spud, mixed veg' and gravy. I'll certainly have it again. Cracking scran! Just remember it's VERY filling.
