History
In 1949, the iconic KWV winemaker, Dr. Charles Niehaus, crafted the inaugural Roodeberg blend, drawing inspiration for the name from a beautiful sunset over the Paarl mountains. Over the past seven decades, this quintessential Cape blend has played a pivotal role in promoting South African wine around the world. Today, Roodeberg is still one of the country's best-known and beloved brands, with a universal appeal that brings together people of all ages and walks of life.

This red blend is made from grapes sourced across the Western Cape with the composition of the blend dictated by the vintage.
Vinification Details
This classic Cape blend spent 14 months maturing in mostly French oak. A small portion of the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in American oak to add complexity.
