Should be labelled HOT!

Used it as a replacement for Morrisons own, as this was on offer. Wow! The usual 2 teaspoons made a normal chilli con carne excruciatingly hot. Use with caution or choose a milder blend.

Hot stuff. Beware.

Typically I can cope with hot food, however this chilli powder packs a serious kick. My go to chilli con carne recipe calls for 2 teaspoons of chilli powder. I ended up using 1/2 teaspoon and it was still hot. Any more and it would have been inedible. Buying this instead of the silly little glass bottles does however represent significantly better value for money.

Be aware - hot!

My other half and I are generally good with hot food. We cook Indian, Mexican and Chinese from scratch and use bhut jolokia paste on cheese sandwiches. But this chilli powder has made him regret ever teasing anyone about ring sting - it's a lot hotter than British chilli powders and a little goes a long way, then comes back to haunt you. If you're used to India, by all means it's fantastic. If not - beware.
